Website Difficulties

It's Friday the 13th and we are experiencing website difficulties I guess if it was going to happen it would happen today.

It has come to that very important time where lists are checked; then double checked. Last minute details are seen to and a time for all at MSC Signs to band together as a team to ensure the arrival of Terry White Chemists' Shoalhaven Stores internal and external signage arrives safely for installation from Monday the 3rd of April. The team are looking forward to seeing the outcome of all the hard work that goes into the opening of a newly fitted shop but there is no rest for the wicked we have another twenty stores on the books... it's full steam ahead.

The AAC — Australian Acrobatic Championships will be holding their annual awards night this weekend and we were more than happy to design and print their trophies for the event. Cam did a magic job as always and the OCE printer put on a brilliant light show.

In the age of digital printing and vinyl cut lettering there is still the need for old fashioned sign writing and proudly Melbourne takes pride in preserving the look of their old signs; I think they have a certain rustic charm about them which adds to the vast majority of eclectic art you can view around Melbourne.

Paulie had the task of hand painting a huge canvas floor mat for an up and coming boxing match for the major sponsors 'Red Wine Shop' a fun task at hand.

So naturally we had to test the product to make sure all went well, three rounds was all it took for Stewie to lay the boss flat it was a knock-out and so was the canvas.

The boys from Outer Edge dropped in and asked if we could apply a simple but effective design to their Rav4. The outline around the body of whom they call 'Nigel' really made the design pop they were impressed when they came to pick up their vehicle. Look out for the adventurous boys and their Rav 4 .

Whilst we're always running about crazy busy taking phone calls: putting together quotes, wrapping up on the finishing touches to artwork, liaising with clients wrapping vehicles and installing the latest Terry White Chemist signage we always manage to stop and celebrate birthdays at MSC and I'm not talking about your dated dried out sponge cake on the discount rack at Woolworths, I'm talking about Fruit Flan, Pavlova, Mud Cake yum, Mel knows where all the good cake shops are and we've never been disappointed yet, thanks Mel!

This week it was our head graphic designers 42nd birthday 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB!'

These were printed on our OCE GT-350 flatbed UV printer, making them virtually vandal proof.

We had a big week this week, no different to any other week really; here is only half of what we got up to and that's not including the off-the-hook phone calls from clients requesting signs of all shapes and sizes.

The Queen Unseen Archive at the Art Gallery of Ballarat, go and see it! it looks amazing.
Novo were after some more high-res digital prints for their seasonal internal displays.
We also installed the new corporate id for 'The Art Gallery of Ballarat'
Maple Street Early Learning Centre were after a couple of banners to let parents know that they were taking enrolments for their kindergarten.
Melbourne Uni Student Union required a new illuminated cubed information sign, she lights up a treat.
Palms Pharmacy- situated in sunny Coffs Harbour invested in seasonal promotion signage. Looks great!

Routing

Today we received a brief from the Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) one of our many valued clients asking for routed directional signs as part of the roll out for the fire effected area's around Marysville. The routed signs were painted with an earthy orange coat of paint. The signs look impressive against a bushy green outlook.

To take into consideration the design team at MSC chose a font that was; clear, concise and legible—remembering that kerning is a very important element in producing beautiful typography. Bad kerning results in bad signage.
